While I am very grateful for the great work that the Hilton Brothers have done to improve the hood I am worried about their expansion plans. I have lost track of the number of restaurants they are planning but it seems too many for an unstable industry. In addition to BlackByrd that they are currently opening (see PoP article: http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2011/07/pop-preview-blackbyrd-warehouse-opens-thursday/) They plan a new pub for Petworth, a pizzeria on the north side of the 930 club, a Tacoteria in the parking lost next to Dodge City, and the Brixton restaurant on the corner of 9th & U.
While I want to support small business owners I feel as though they will have too much in the local market. While the recession is hopefully over, there are still ricks involved in restaurants. I don’t want to see them financially overstretched.
