Is U too B&T?

I was recently thinking on my bike ride to work (yes it did hurt to think so hard). Is U Street too popular?

When I lived in New York, the hipsters used to complain that Friday and Saturday were too B&T, meaning there were too many people from New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester and Connecticut going to the bars and clubs. Locals didn’t want to deal with the lines, crowds and bad service.

Recently I was talking to a few residents of U Street who said they hate going out on Friday or Saturday because of all the people who come in from outside the neighborhood. U Street has always been proud of its heritage as a destination for good clubs and our restaurants are making it a major draw as well. But are we becoming more like Chinatown or (God Forbid) Adams Morgan? Are too many patrons taxing our police coverage and annoying residents?
