On the subject of fixing mistakes….

Marion Barry had a classic defence for his hanging bumper last week.: “When you live in the ghetto, this happens.” How proud our Ward 8 brethren must be of their city councilman: http://www.washingtonpost.com/therootdc/barry-calls-ward-8-ghetto/2011/09/01/gIQA9BykuJ_story.html

Tourmoblie is going away. The National Park Servcie announced that they are ending their contract with the Tourmobile. I did not have that much of a problem with Tourmobile but do think it hindered comeptition. If more services were allowed to pick up and drop off at the monuments, maybe pricing might be more competitive, instead of scaling tourists: http://greatergreaterwashington.org/post/11925/tourmobile-dies-but-exclusivity-was-the-real-villain/

UPDATE: NPS is saying that they will add CaBi stations on the Mall next year! Yeah! http://greatergreaterwashington.org/post/11938/park-service-will-allow-cabi-on-the-mall/

Now for the last point. Would pay a bike tax? I don’t think it’s practical unless they add a fee to the annual dues or the hourly charge. If we are about incentivising good behavior, isn’t biking good behavior? http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2011/08/dear-popville-would-you-be-willing-to-pay-a-bike-tax/
