Cardozo Open House

Cardozo will have an Open House on Saturday to check out the facility before it is renovated. CityMarket@Owill break ground Friday not Tuesday as I said previously (http://www.roadsidedevelopment.com/portfolio.php?id=3) and a nice story on the pans and funding there: http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2011/11/citymarket-at-o-300-million-hud-financed-2400-job-project-starts-friday/. Shaw Developers are also having a community meeting on Thursday at Shaw Watha Library. (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Shaw-Main-Streets/234727976541161) The building at 9th & Q continues its renovation but I guess no one is sure who is doing it (http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/blogspot/umACs/~3/oZGdsaZDZSw/renovation-reveals-ghost-signs-at-ninth.html). PoP tells us that the Lincoln Theater iscoming under DC administration. (http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2011/11/oversight-of-the-new-direction-of-the-lincoln-theatre-has-been-delegated-to-the-d-c-commission-on-the-arts-and-humanities/) Should it go to the city or be leased to a concert promoter like Live Nation? The new Japanese restaurant(http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2011/11/izakaya-seki-applies-for-a-liquor-license-at-1117-v-st-nw/) has started construction on V Street at 12th. The Smithsonian is contemplating making the Museum of Science & Industry (http://dcist.com/2011/11/arts_and_industries_building_could.php) a Latino Heritage Museum. Plans are still being debated for the Dupont Circle Underground (http://dcist.com/2011/11/whats_up_with_the_dupont_undergroun.php#photo-1). Marion Barry is Tweeting: That’s scary: http://dcist.com/2011/11/marion_barry_myopic_little_twag.php. In the constant grab for more control, DC is going to license Tattoo Parlors. http://feeds.gothamistllc.com/click.phdo?i=368ae221ce24e2b9a4a0d8a3f811b509 I would think that is a lot more important than making landlords regsiter as corporations.

Odd & Ends: Ever wonder how Petworth got its name? Ruff & Ready has reopened! It’s now at 4722 14th St NW — across from car barn and open same hours Thu – Sun. A good idea: Put DC United’s new stadium (http://greatergreaterwashington.org/post.cgi?id=12748) at U Maryland
