The Washington Post, a DC institution, is considering selling its downtown offices and moving to the burbs. While I think DC would miss them, lowering costs definitely needs to be a priority for print newspapers. They have already closed Newsweek do they really need prime downtown space? The city council will balk but I’d rather they put their efforts into keeping the Post versus keeping the FBI which is truly one of the ugliest buildings on Earth.
Interesting comment on PoP about trees seemingly surrounded by concrete when this is actually a special composite that allow the trees to breath and grow! It will hopefully be better than the crazy sidewalk crushing growth we seem on many urban sidewalks especially since we are a top 10 tree city!
